Button Mushroom - 2 cups (halved or quarted)
Onions -1 small
Tomato - 1
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
G.chillies -2
R.Chilli powder -1 or 1.5tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
garam masala- 3/4 tsp
turmeric - a pinch
turmeric - a pinch
coriander leaves - few springs
coconut grated -1 cup.
Method:-
In a pan add little oil and saute the coconut in medium high flame .Stiring occasionally making sure that it does not stick to the pan.saute till the coconut becomes a rich brown color and will get a nice aroma of the roasted coconut .Grind this coconut with chilli powder ,coriander powder, garam masala powder and turmeric powder to a fine paste add water if needed.keep this coc paste aside.
In a pan add little oil saute onion till translucent add gingergarlic paste and saute it for few more mins till the raw smell goes add the mushrooms and saute again for few mins.then add tomato and salt and saute. add water and cook covered till mushroom is cooked. then add coconut paste and let it boil add water to adjust the consistency of the gravy.Adjust salt if needed. Add coriander leaves atlast and switch off the stove..
this gravy goes well with idli ,dosa,chappathi,rice adai,puttu,idiyappam,appam and list goes on.....so try it and let me know the feedbacks...
