Cauliflower Thoran / Stir Fry



Ingrediants:-
  • Cauliflower -2 cups
  • Onion - 4 tbsp (Chopped)
  • Coconut -2 tbsp (Grated)
  • Garlic - 1 pod
  • Chilli powder -1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder-1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric - a pinch
  • Urad Dal -1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seed-1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - a spring
  • Dry red chillies-2
  • Oil



Method:-
  1. Cut the cauliflower into florets. Cook it in salt water for few mins.Drain and chop cauliflower finely.
  2. Grind coconut,chilli powder,cumin powder,turmeric,garlic to a coarse paste( just one or two pulse in mixie would do)
  3. In a pan add oil and season using mustard ,urad dal (till it is slightly brown) then add red chilli and curry leaves.
  4. Now add onion till translucent,add chopped cauliflower ,salt saute for few mins.and cook covered for few mins till cauliflower is fully cooked ( it won't take long as it was already cooked in water)
  5. Cook uncovered till all excess water evaporates.
  6. Now add the Ground Coconut and fry well till raw smell goes .(sprinkle little oil if needed).
  7. Serve hot with rice as side dish
